- VAT and any administrative costs.
- Use of one or more official certified translators
- Use of a second translator for each language to edit and review each file
- Using an Industry Expert as a Reviewer / Proofreader

- Secure storage in an archive for as long as you require.
Official Translation Prices
Translation prices are set before the start of each project. The same prices may apply for many different projects, depending on the customer's needs. If the scope of a project changes, we will work with you to agree on new prices that are more consistent with the new project or scope. When you require a free estimate, without obligations, we will provide you with a detailed quote per document and language pair.
Translation Price per Source Word
The most important factor in determining the price of a translation is the word count of the source document. The source language is the language in which the original document is written; the target language is the language into which the document will be translated.
As a general rule, and as is standard practice in the market, when translating from English into a Romance language (French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, for example), the word count in the target language is often 20% higher than in the source language. Since we charge based on the word count in the source language for these languages, you receive an accurate quote at the start of each project, something you wouldn't get if you were charged based on the word count in the target language.
Transparency vs. Rates per Page or Hour
Quoting for translation projects can be done based on a flat rate, such as the price per page or an hourly rate. However, in the industry it is not customary to charge in this way and it is not recommended for various reasons. Firstly, since all documents are different, the number of words per page can vary significantly. Also, many countries use different sizes of paper. When it comes to hourly rates, each translator translates at their own pace. More experienced translators tend to translate faster, while less experienced translators take longer. For the sake of transparency and budgeting, the price-per-word methodology is a more reliable and predictable way to ensure a fair and accurate quote.
Translation Price Based on the Complexity of the Original Document
The price of translations (the price per word) also depends on the degree of complexity of each document. For example, general business letters (without technical terms) are priced at a lower price than technical patents, medical texts, complex legal contracts, pharmacy documents, or software manuals. General letters are priced at the lowest price per word, while complex legal documents and highly technical texts are priced at a higher price.
Official Translation Price in Colombia according to Language Combination
Language combinations or language pairs are an element to take into account when calculating the price of a translation project. Western European languages tend to be charged less, while Asian languages are more expensive due to the complexity of the characters and the reduced number of quality linguists.
Standard and Urgent Official Translation Rates
Perfect planning and, more importantly, sufficient time to align resources allow us to work with large volumes at the most competitive prices on the market. To see a list of typical turnaround times with proper notice and based on total word count, please visit our High Volume Translation page.
Our normal per-word quote for texts needing full translation includes the translation, editing, and revision steps, each of which is performed by different qualified linguists.
Software Localization Pricing and Competitive Prices
Software localization or content management systems can be charged based on an hourly rate or a fixed price can be established for the entire project.
The excellent quality of our certified translations and our competitive prices are a direct result of the high level of training of our in-house team of translators. Most translation agencies outsource their work. We always prefer to work directly with our translators to ensure you receive a top-quality product at the best prices. At Traductores.co, we always recommend a per-word pricing methodology because it is clear and fair for the client.
Billing and Payment Plans
All our prices include VAT and are supported by the issuance of electronic invoicing. Generally Traductores.co requests full payment prior to delivery of the final translation. For customers who have good verifiable credit or have a good payment history with us, we can develop a payment plan so that payment is made in two installments. However, as the case may be, Traductores.co will collaborate with your company in each particular case to adapt to your billing needs.
